St.Gemma’s Girls' Higher Secondary School is a Govt.aided minority school run by Sisters of charity.We follow ancestral Indian culture and develop a mode of behavior.According to that we give emphasis to human values and try to promote the all round development of the children .By this, we also dedicate ourselves to the sublime process of laying foundation to a healthy family and society. We train the students to be healthy and emotionally matured with which only they could be on the way of God and righteousness. The motto of our school is “Be a light to be a light”.We keep this goal in our every deed and word so as to enable the pupils to grow with a sense of responsibility and a high civic sense.
The school started as a Primary school in 1933 was upgraded as high school in 1982 and it was again upgraded as higher secondary school in 2000.
The school gives due importance to co-curricular activities of the students and the school bands over all championship in district youth festival competition every year.
Various associations like science club, commerce club, social science club, English club, mathematical association,DCL,scouts and guides and NSS play a vital role in the personality development of the students.
Regular coaching is given to the students in sports even though the play ground facilities are limited. The Basket ball team of our school is the topmost in our district.
A well furnished library functions in our school. To develop saving skill in the students, sanchaika scheme is functioning in the school.So many scholarships are distributed among the poor students.national festivals and other important days are celebrated solemnly.Moral classes and counseling sessions to needy ones are conducted to equip the students face life and to tide over stress.
